Where stories find home.
This is a house built not of stone, but of stories.
Its walls are made of memories—written, spoken, and lived.
Its roof, a patchwork of poems and places I’ve loved.
Its doors, always open.
Balé is the Kapampangan word for houseIt’s a word I grew up with, something that means shelter, warmth, care, and history. In this digital house, I gather everything I’ve come to hold sacred:
words, wonder, recipes from my roots, letters to the moon, and stories from the road.
I’m a Filipina, a writer, teacher, traveler, and memory-keeper.
I grew up believing that food is sacred, language is inheritance, and stories are meant to be passed down like heirlooms.
Now, I continue to gather, write, and remember. Through this space, I hold close the flavors of home, the language of my ancestors, the light of distant places, and the causes that call for care—environmental conservation, preservation of traditional recipes, and the protection of cultural memory.
storiesbybale.com is part archive, part love letter. It is for anyone who has ever carried a story inside them like a soft ember, waiting to be shared.
Whether you came for a story, a memory, or something unnamed—
I’m glad you’re here.
Welcome home.

About the Logo
This logo features the word Balé in a serif typeface with clean, elegant lines—evoking a sense of tradition and sophistication. The standout design element is the stylized roof formed by two diagonal lines above the capital letter A, symbolizing a house or nipa hut—a visual reference to the Kapampangan word balé.
It was designed to invite you in, to sit down, to listen—and perhaps to remember something of your own.
